Indicating rules on roundabouts Qld

Roundabouts Qld

Hello and welcome to my first Blog.

The number one question I'm asked is, 'How to Signal on Roundabouts?'

I have taken information from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads [TMR] website and modified it.

I have also included a short video from TMR, and I hope this information helps you.

Signalling on roundabouts is easy when you know the rules.

Here are some tips to help you.

First, remember if the lanes leading to the roundabout have arrows, make sure you follow their direction.

Turning left:
- Approach the roundabout in the left lane or line of traffic.
- Signal left as you approach the roundabout.
- Continue signalling left as you exit the roundabout, and turn off your indicator after you've exited.

Driving straight:
- Approach the roundabout without signalling.
- Make sure to signal left as you exit, and turn off your indicator after you leave the roundabout.

Right turn:
- Approach the roundabout in the right lane or line of traffic.
- Signal right as you approach the roundabout and continue to signal right until you are ready to exit.
- Before you exit, signal left.
